Background
Here are some proven methods to enhance report generation with additional functionality.
Service Labels
Adding service labels simplifies data categorization in reports.
By using service labels, you can streamline the process. Labels can be applied to CPU, Memory, and filesystem services for better organization.
Here is a list displaying parent, child, and sub-child reports:
Parent (Host specification)
No filter is needed here, since it inherits the filter from the parent definition.
Parent definition: You can replace this via the report scheduler, eliminating the need to define it here.
This means you may not need a separate parent report for each customer, as the report scheduler could handle it, depending on your specific requirements.
Child (Services specification)
You only need to filter for the relevant service label.
Sub-Child (Graph specification)
Define only the graph visuals here. Filters are not needed, as they are inherited from the parent (service) or parent-parent (host).
