Problem

You want to update the BIOS, iDRAC, or firmware of hardware components (such as RAID controllers or SSDs) on the appliance.

Background

All current appliances are based on Dell hardware, so you can use their official documentation to get started on how to perform BIOS/iDRAC updates.

Solution

You can do this at your own discretion. Updating BIOS, iDRAC, or hardware component firmware like RAID controllers or SSDs does not in any way jeopardize your support.
In the unlikely event that issues occur, you can contact your hardware support partner for assistance.

As a general rule, you do not want to install updates for crucial hardware on day one.
However, this is entirely up to you and your experience, processes, and general cautiousness.
