Troubleshooting if hosts vanish during a vCenter update
This article explains why hosts may vanish after a vCenter update.

Problem
When updating a vCenter, hosts that DCD added vanish.
Reason
The piggyback data from the vCenter does not get updated, so the DCD will delete the hosts that do not receive any data after the configured amount of time.
Solution
To mitigate this issue, you can disable the DCD connection for the vCenter before the update and re-enable it afterward.
The following side effects have been observed at the time of writing:
- Affected hosts lose their agent update registration.
